Short Introduciton to the Conference
YOCOCEN, after successfully holding First International Conference on “Natha
Yoga Sampradaya” 2006
in Rishikesh and 2nd International
Conference on "Natha Yoga Sampradaya Tradition” from February 26 to March
1, 2009 in Bangalore, now plans to organize 3rd International Conference on
"Natha Yoga Sampradaya 2010 in Pokhara, Nepal. This Conference to be
held in conjunction with Gorakshanath Sewa Sang - Nepal envisages the rescue
of several Hatha Yogic Techniques that have been elapsed in the recent times.
Many of them, though described in Natha Manuscripts, are difficult to be grasped
by contemporary yoga students.
The purpose of this meet is to emphasize and analyze the practical aspects
of these less known Asanas, Pranayams, Bandhas, Shat Kriyas, Mudras, Dharanas,
Paratyahara Dhyana Techniques to the modern yogi with the help of these Siddhas,
Swamis and Sadhus that have kept the tradition alive.
Eminent scholars and Yogis are invited from different countries such as USA,
Argentina, Brazil and Spain, including different parts of India to interact
and share their thoughts on Origin, Development and Practices of Natha Yoga
Sampradaya.
Accompanied with a big contingent of delegates from Brazil, Ms. Maria Helena
de Bastos Freire, Chairperson of International Yoga Coordination Center (YOCOCEN)
and Dr. Ruy Alfredo de Bastos Freire Filho, Founder President and General
Director of Yoga Institutions in Brazil are participating in the Conference.
